An Ongoing Genshin Impact Fan Art Series
This ongoing fan art series centers on Arlecchino from Genshin Impact. Through illustration, character exploration, and visual storytelling, I seek to expand upon her complex personality and the emotions and stories that remain largely untold, while staying true to the spirit of the original work.
Arlecchino is a character defined by compelling contradictions. A formidable Fatui Harbinger, she is also known as “Father” to the children of the House of the Hearth. Beneath her commanding presence lies a complex interplay of strength and vulnerability, restraint and tenderness, duty and solitude.
This series began with my admiration for her, but has grown into a deeper exploration of who she is beyond the roles she inhabits. What lies beneath her composure? How do her past experiences shape the person she has become? And how does someone so accustomed to carrying responsibility express care, confront pain, and preserve her own desires?
Through these works, I seek to explore the life of a character beyond the boundaries of the original narrative.
Rather than adhering to a single visual style, I allow each story to guide its own artistic expression. Some illustrations embrace dramatic compositions and symbolism; others focus on quiet, intimate emotions or the warmth of everyday life within the House of the Hearth. Costume design, lighting, color, and composition become tools for understanding character and giving form to emotions.
For me, fan art is more than a visual reinterpretation of an existing character. It is an ongoing dialogue with the original work—one grounded in respect for its characterization while leaving room for personal observation, imagination, and untold possibilities.
I hope these illustrations invite viewers to see not only Arlecchino's beauty and formidable strength, but also the resilience, complexity, and humanity that make her so compelling to me.
Beyond the flames and ashes, it is always Arlecchino herself that I seek to portray.
